If you're a Game Master, chances are you spend a good amount of time planning for encounters in your TTRPG games. One key component to these encounters, whether they are social or fights (or a bit of both!), is good art: whether you're looking for battlemaps, painted scenes, or tokens, Czepeku has you covered! From a serene lakeside battlemap to a droid gate guard token, we provide thousands of illustrations in both fantasy and sci-fi themes, with 30 releases each month across all subscriptions. In this article, we will explain how the subscription model works and answer any lingering questions.
What Are the Available Subscriptions?
Currently, Czepeku offers six different subscriptions that are divided into two categories:
- Fantasy has three subscriptions for maps, scenes, and tokens, each priced at $25/month. There is also a fantasy bundle that includes all three subscriptions for $50/month.
- Sci-fi also has three subscriptions for maps, scenes, and tokens, each priced at $25/month, with a sci-fi bundle including all three subscriptions for $50/month.
The currently available bundles are only the fantasy bundle and the sci-fi bundle. While you can choose any number of subscriptions you want, there is presently no discount in place for mix-and-match subscription bundles.
Each subscription or bundle is available annually instead of monthly, giving two months of subscription for free: a $25/month subscription costs $250 annually, a $50/month bundle costs $500 for a year.
What is Included in a Subscription?
Here is a detailed list of what each subscription provides:
- Maps: for $25 a month, you get access to the existing catalogue of hundreds of high-res battle maps with dozens of variations. A new map pack is released every week with 20+ variations, as well as one new animated map each month.
- Scenes: for $25 a month, you get access to the existing catalogue of painted scenes, each with more than ten variations. Each scene pack also includes two animated variants, and a new pack is released every week.
- Tokens: for $25 a month, you get access to the existing catalogue of hundreds of customizable tokens. Five new tokens are released every week, and you can also use the Token Builder to personalize your tokens with colors, accessories, original frames, and backgrounds.
How to Subscribe?
Once you've chosen your subscription, click on "Subscribe":

If you haven't created a Czepeku account already, you will need to create one to subscribe. You can use your Discord or Google account, or create a new account with your email address and a strong, unique password.
Note: You can connect your Discord and Google account to your Czepeku account later if you create it with an email address (see how in this article).
Once you're logged in, you can choose between a monthly and an annual subscription, as well as the currency to use in your payments.

Clicking "Continue to checkout" brings you to the payment page: your selected subscription is shown on the left, and on the right are the card information fields needed for the payment. You can pay either by card or using a PayPal account. If you pay by card, you can enter a phone number to save your payment information, but it is not required.

You can now visit the page of your corresponding subscription and enjoy your maps, scenes, or tokens!
When Am I Charged for My Subscription?
When you subscribe to Czepeku monthly, you will be charged the full price for your subscription, and your subscription will be active for a full month. For example, if you subscribe to the Fantasy Maps on the 15th of April, you will be charged $25 on the 15th of April, and your subscription will be active until the 15th of May, when you will be charged again for a new month (May 15th-June 15th). You can see the status of your subscription by visiting your account page and clicking on "Subscription": you will see your current active subscription(s), possible discounts, and the day of your subscription renewal.
The same principle applies to annual subscriptions.
What Are the Available Payment Methods?
Currently, PayPal and card payments through Stripe are available payment options.
What Happens If I Change or Cancel My Subscription?
If you cancel your subscription, you will have access to the content of your subscription (maps, scenes, or tokens) until the end of the billing cycle for which you paid (annually or monthly).
If you upgrade a $25 subscription to a $50 bundle, you will only pay the price difference proportional to the days you've subscribed with the $25 subscription. For example, if you subscribed on the 1st of June to Czepeku Tokens and upgrade to a full Fantasy bundle on the 8th of June, you will not be charged the full $50. Your bundle subscription will also be tied to your previous billing cycle and will renew on the 1st.
If you wish to downgrade a bundle subscription to a $25 subscription (for example, switching from Fantasy Bundle to Fantasy Maps), please get in touch with us at support@czepeku.com so that we can manually downgrade your subscription. In this case, you will be given credit corresponding to the unused time of your bundle subscription. For example, if you downgrade halfway into your monthly subscription, you will:
- Get a $25 credit for your unused bundle subscription time.
- Be charged $12.5 for your new $25/month subscription.
- This results in no charge at the time of the downgrade, and a $12.5 credit for your next monthly bill.
When you downgrade, your subscription cycle will still be billed on the same date.
How Do I Cancel My Subscription?
To cancel your subscription(s), visit the "Subscription" tab of your account page and click "Cancel Subscription" (in red). Note that this will cancel all your active subscriptions. We are working on making subscription management easier, but in the meantime, if you are in need of assistance with your subscription, please email us at support@czepeku.com.
Navigating Your Subscription
To see what you have access to and learn more about your subscriptions, visit your account page:
- Dashboard: shows the latest releases of your active subscriptions.
- Subscription: shows the details of your active subscriptions and the next billing date. You can cancel your subscription from here.
- Manage Billing: shows invoices for your previous payments, as well as the estimated upcoming payment details.
- Email preferences: allows you to choose which subscription(s) should send you an email for new releases.
Czepeku Subscriptions or Patreon?
Currently, there is no plan to stop the Czepeku Patreon. The prices won't change, and the maps and scenes content is the same as on the website (except for the animated night variants, which are a new addition to the website).
Choosing to subscribe directly to Czepeku offers the same content for $25 as the $10 tier on Patreon, which amounts to $50 when paying for all releases. You also directly support the incredible team of artists behind all these amazing battle maps and scenes!
We do understand that the Patreon subscriptions can be more financially accessible to our supporters, which is why we intend to keep the Patreon subscription available. Unfortunately, the Czepeku Tokens system is not compatible with Patreon and will not be available on that platform.
If you were previously a supporter on Patreon with an early-bird discount (for example for fantasy scenes) and you wish to switch to Czepeku subscriptions, you can get a $5 discount on monthly subscriptions by connecting your Patreon account to your Czepeku account. Visit your account page and click "Connect Patreon".
How Do I Connect My Czepeku Account to Discord?
In order to access the supporters' Discord channels, you'll need to connect your Czepeku account to Discord. You can do so by following the tutorial here.
What About Early Bird Discounts?
If you have an early bird discount applied to one of your subscriptions, you will keep this discount even if you unsubscribe. The discount will be reapplied once you resubscribe to the website.
Any special offers that are available to you will be listed at the bottom of your account/subscription page.
Is Moulinette Integration Available with the Website Subscriptions?
Moulinette integration isn't possible through the website, but we are currently working on building our own Foundry Module to easily upload your maps, scenes, and tokens to your games! The Module is being beta-tested by some of our subscribers at the moment.
